Georgette Heyer

Georgette Heyer was born in London, England, in 1902. From the beginning of her career, her talent was obvious—she sold the first book she had ever written. Over the next 50 years she wrote 60 romance and mystery novels.

Celebrated for the wit and humor in her novels, renowned for the historical accuracy and vivid portrayals of various time periods, she is said to have single-handedly created the Regency romance as it is known today.

Scores of authors credit her as inspiration for their own careers—and millions of readers eagerly collect every one of her novels.
