Why I love this book: As a new mom I'm used to being sleep deprived, but Mofina gives new meaning to the term "sleepless night" with his latest thriller, Vengeance Road. Like Mofina's earlier book Six Seconds, the pace of the chase is frantic and I stayed up all night following investigative journalist Jack Gannon zigzag across the U.S. and Canada to track down the murderer of a nursing student and the disappearance of her friend with a troubled past. I just couldn't put the book down when he was hot on the trail of the decorated cop suspect
or later when he found more clues in a small northern Alberta town
or later when he lost the trail.
Mofina puts you into the seat of the killer as he drives his rig of victims across the country. But what really separates this thriller from the rest of the pack isn't just the strength and depth of the lead character (Mofina's crime-reporter background came in handy here), it's his ability to switch between killer, victim and hero reporter’s perspective. At least that’s what kept me reading all night!

About Ashley: I'm hooked on thrillers and suspense books, but what really rivets me are classic romances. My new favorite reading time is early in the morning before my two kids under four are up. I make a latte and escape for 15 minutes in my book. As the Manager of Digital Marketing, I feel spoiled rotten to have access to so many great books. My favorite Harlequin authors right now are Carla Neggers, P.D. Martin, Emilie Richards, Sherryl Woods and Laura Van Wormer. I never get tired of reading Gabriel García Márquez.

Why I love this book: More Blazing Bedtime Stories updates classic fairy tales with a very modern and sexy Blaze twist. The book contains two short stories. In "Into the Woods," Julie Leto's fairy godmother leaves her magical kingdom for the human realm in a bid to leave behind 400 years of fairy godmother servitude without trapping a new girl (some "unsuspecting girl with tiaras in her eyes") into a similar sentence. Instead, if Ana can grant the wish of a human girl she can become human. Sexy complications ensue when Ana meets the hot brother of the human she befriends. I really enjoyed Julie's take but did wish that not every princess her fairy godmother helped lacked a few jewels in her tiara. Leslie Kelly really delivers humor and sizzle in "Once Upon a Mattress." I loved the realness of the human heroine who learns she is a princess back in the Kingdom of Elatyria. The hero, part wolf, will have you howling at the moon, looking for your very own wolf man.

About Malle: I love all kinds of books, but a great romance is best. I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts, Lois McMaster Bujold, Maria V. Snyder and Maggie Osborne, and seem to be obsessed with urban fantasy. I also love reading eBooks on my Sony ReaderI think I've sold a dozen devices to perfect strangers! I'm all about things digital at Harlequin.

Why I love this book: Megan Hart first grabbed me with her bestselling novel Tempted. Yes, she writes very steamy books. No, I wouldn't normally choose that type of read. But Megan has a talent for writing stories that you just can't put down. Deeper, set in a beach town, moves back and forth from past to present. The story line follows Bess, newly separated from her husband in present day, and a fresh-scrubbed student ready to face the world 20 years ago. Enter Nick. Hot, sexy Nick. Despite all that time they've been apart, their love is still very strong. But something just isn't quite right
You'll have to read on to find out!

About Lora: Working as the eHarlequin Bookstore Manager, it's a definite plus that I love to read! I'm not a "read whatever I can get my hands on" kinda gal. I'm much pickier with my reading time. Call me a book snob, but I just can't get through books that aren't truly amazing! I love everything from romance (yes, I still love chick lit) to paranormal reads (magic, vampires and more!) to books set in a different time (1988 or 1746, doesn't matter). I hope you enjoy my picks as much as I did!

Why I love this book: I devoured Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties books, so when I heard she was starting a new series of stories set in a fantasy realm of Lightworld/Darkworld I was both excited and intrigued. If I'm being totally honest, I have to say that Queene of Light didn't resonate with me at first. It was much darker in tone than the Blood Ties books, and the world that Armintrout created was quite complex and took some getting used to. But about halfway through the book, after a critical plot point, I was completely hooked. Her characters are so well formed and multidimensional, I felt fully invested in their story. Unfortunately, the book left me wanting to immediately pick up the next in the series. Fortunately, it's out in November so I won't have long to wait. If you're a fan of fantasy, you'll probably love the world Armintrout has created right from the beginning. If you're relatively new to fantasy, like me, give this book a chanceI think it'll win you over.

About Eleanor: I've been an avid reader since childhood, and will read just about anything (including the back of cereal boxes when I'm desperate), so working for Harlequin as the Director of Digital Commerce is a dream. I enjoy fantasy, historical, paranormal and light, sexy romance. My favorite non-Harlequin authors include Christopher Moore, Ken Follett and Neil Gaiman, and my favorite Harlequin authors include Jennifer Armintrout, Liz Fielding and Deanna Raybourn.

Note: Unfortunately, we ran out of Amy’s staff pick, Moonstruck. You can still enjoy it in our always-available eBook format. Don’t miss her review of Moonstruck below, or check out the connected story, The Warlord’s Daughter.
Why I love this book: I say in my bio that I love books that take me to different worlds. Moonstruck, a great sci-fi romance, is one of those books.
The Coalition and the Drakken have been at war for centuries, but when peace is suddenly declared old enemies are thrown together as allies—such as Coalition admiral Brit Bandar and Drakken pirate Finn Rorkken. It's a classic "enemies become lovers" and "opposites attract" setup as Brit and Finn struggle with their old prejudices and undeniable attraction.
By-the-books Brit is a strong, butt-kicking heroine and rugged Finn is her perfect—though unexpected—partner. The world-building is fantastic with the Coalition and especially Drakken cultures (humans are mostly secondary in Moonstruck, though there are hints about Susan Grant's previous HQN sci-fi romances in which humans played a larger role). Plus, there is a lovely secondary romance that will have you wishing the couple got their own book, too.
I'm currently reading the sequel, The Warlord's Daughter, and loving it as well—so don't be surprised if you see that on a future staff pick list!

Why I love this book: I hadn't read any Susan Wiggs before this, but enjoyed it so much that I have since read several. I'd started hesitantly; I liked the cover, but this book is a reprint, and not a recent one. I worried that it would end with her somehow submitting to his alpha-male will. But it didn't: Juliana, the Russian princess/horse thief, is the starshe's feisty and slippery at once. Stephen, meanwhile, is a smooth operator. He's like a Tudor-age Don Draper, without the infidelity. This book has the strengths of a contemporary romance, along with a rare attention to detail.

About Emily: As a sucker for well-written characters, I tend to lean toward books in miniseries, if only because once I find characters I like, I want to spend as much time with them as possible. My favorite Harlequin authors include Susan Mallery and Gena Showalter, and my favorite non-Harlequin authors include Eloisa James and Charlaine Harris. When not reading romance, I like Philip Roth and Marilynne Robinson.
